- The Story
- Dexter, the young dragon, has no one to play with. He is so sad
that he sighs and out of his mouth comes a cloud of smoke. Other animals
are impressed. The zebra, the giraffe, and the elephant all try to blow
smoke just like Dexter. When they all fail, Dexter grows proud.
The others leave Dexter alone, claiming it a silly thing to blow
smoke rings. Dexter wins the other animals' friendship after he
accidentally uses his special power to pop corn and shares all the
delicious popcorn with his friends.
- Comments
- Dexter, as a young and cute dragon, is a misunderstood child. Smooth-
skinned, with some spikes on his back, a small pair of wings, and brown
eyes. The only traditional dragon characteristic he possesses is the
ability to blow smoke and generate heat to pop corn. Dexter is treated
as one of the other animals and these animals characters are also
anthropomorphized. Dexter the dragon is not an enemy of humans
but Human himself -- even with a normal human name.
