The best thing about this Issue Novel is its title. Yes, yes, this is too harsh. It actually was not a bad read -- although certain events and details are too conveniently placed and not very convincing -- what's the chance for Virginia, who has a weight problem (she eats for comfort and is quite over-weight) to HAPPEN upon the skinny alpha girl who suffers from bulimia, and then, the two of them became friendly??? Virginia is commended as a "writer" with a bright future -- but the WRITING of hers in this book (when a character is posed as a "writer," readers tend to think of the text as this character's actual "writing" and not just thoughts captured) does not present itself as of a higher quality than one can find in any average teenager's scrapbook. It still held my interest enough to quickly read it to the way end.
