A Librarian's Reading Log

The number of 's indicates how much I enjoyed the reading experience of each title. It is completely subjective and does not reflect the "literary value" of the book. The grade-level is also assigned by me, as much as I believe that those are the readers most likely to enjoy each title. The means that I read the Galley (or Advanced Readers Copy) of the book, not the finished and published book.

09/03/2004: "Gossip Girl #1"

author: Cecily Von Ziegesar
audience: 8 and up

Fun read! It isn't even very "guilty." I have been describing it as "juicy." Alghough, it seems that the characters and situations can become quite tiring quite quickly. Of course, it is fun to see the familiar places popping up: Jackson Hole, 3 Guys, etc. It is surprising that the romances are actually quite tender.

Here you will find the books I have been reading, mostly for my own enjoyment and also because I am a School Librarian, serving children 4th to 8th grades.

I believe strongly that as a "literature advisor," I need to connect the right book with the right child and thus foster in each child the love of reading and books. For this purpose, I must read as much as time and my slow-reading pace allows.

If you are curious as to what I read and how much I enjoyed (or disliked) these books, please read on.
