- The Story
- This is a summary in plain prose of the last part of the epic Beowulf. After a piece of its guarded treasure
is stolen by a "condemned or
bannished" man, the dragon flies into rage and rampages the country
of
Geats where Beowulf is the king. Beowulf is old now but he still
sets out
to fight the dragon. His sword cannot even drive through the scale
armor
of the dragon. Only one of his companions is brave enough to come
to
Beowulf's rescue. His name is Wiglaf. The dragon is slayed by the
combined strengh of these two men but Beowulf is mortally injured
and
dies shortly after.
- Comments
- Greedy and fierce, this dragon breathes fire and is quite deadly. It
is the
end of Beowulf.
