- The Story
- The World Famous Tightrope Walker Muriel has to get rid of a
fire-breathing dragon that's terrifying the kingdom of
Pompendcircumstance. Using her wits, she figures out the reason the
Dragon is acting badly is that it is dirty. Once Muriel gives the
dragon a good scrubbing and cleaning, it puffs out soft clouds of steam
instead of breathing smelly smoke. Thus the dragon becomes the Royal
Steam Heater and gets a bath every Saturday.
- Comments
- The illustrations show a cartoonish dragon: scaly, but fluffy at the
same time, green with tiny purple wings and a foolish look. It seems
that this dragon is the embodiment of children who behave badly, and that
the source of bad behaviors can be tracked down and resolved.
