Books on International Adoption Compiled by Mari Stangland
with the help of CHILDLIT list members)
A few weeks ago, I wrote and asked for books on International/Intercountry
adoption. I was asked to share the list of titles that were suggested.
From the readers on the list, I received the following titles:
*Through Moon and Stars and Night Skies* -- by Ann Turner
*We Adopted You, Benjamin Koo* -- by Linda Walvoord Girard
*Chinese Eyes* -- by Marjorie Waybill
*Katie-Bo* -- by Iris Fisher
*Horace* -- by Holly Keller
*Wilma the Elephant* -- by Erwin Moser
*Tall Boy's Journey* -- by Joanna Halpert Kraus
*Brat Cat* -- by Elizabeth Hutchins (Australian)
The three books that were repeatedly suggested were *Through Moon and Stars and
Night Skies*, *Katie-Bo,*, and *We Adopted You, Benjamin Koo.*
For future reference, other books located include:
*Adoption is for Always* -- by Linda Girard Walvoord
*Beginnings* -- Virginia Kroll
*Being Adopted* -- by Maxine B. Rosenberg
*The Facts About Adoption* -- by Gail Stewart
*A Forever Family* -- Roslyn Banish with Jennifer Jordan-Wong

*(In our Neighborhood) Brian Was Adopted* -- Doris Sanford
*Is That Your Sister?* -- Catherine Bunin and Sherry Bunin
*We Don't Look Like Our Mom and Dad* -- Harriet Sobol
*Welcome Child* -- Pearl S. Buck. (out of print, but deals with the adoption
